Initial review in 2018

A systematic review and meta-analysis examined the association between work-related potentially morally injurious events and mental health disorders. Results highlighted a significant association between potentially morally injurious events and post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and suicidality. This notable study, published in the British Journal of Psychiatry highlights moral injury’s public health implications. Cited 432 times, the paper also illustrated key gaps in the literature, particularly the limited research on non-US military populations.
