For children of parents with moral injury

We have helped to develop a free storybook called Dad’s Moral Injury Cloud: Lara’s Story for children whose parents are struggling with moral injury.

Free storybook

The book was developed with international experts in moral injury, child wellbeing and education.   It sheds light on the experiences of families coping with a loved one affected by moral injury, offering validation and understanding.

Please note, this book is not intended for children to read alone. It’s designed for adults (such as parents, carers, caseworkers, or clinicians) to pre-read and determine whether it’s appropriate for the child they are supporting.

The book is intended as a helpful tool for supporting conversations with children about moral injury, aiming to improve children’s understanding of what is happening in their family when a parent has a moral injury.

The storybook is recommended for children aged 5-12 and is best read in one-on-one sessions with children and their parent, carer, educator, support worker, or therapist.
